Because the amateur radio service is an educational and productive
extracurricular activity to which many young people dedicate their valuable
time, the Atlanta Radio Club awards a scholarship. Scholarship funds are
awarded from the profits of the Atlanta Ham Festival. For 2003 we plan to award
a single scholarship of $1000. Checks are made payable to the institution
and the student.
Applications are accepted from licensed amateur radio operators from the ARRL Georgia Section and adjacent
states.
The recipient must attend an accredited
higher education facility. There are no age limits or financial need assessment.
The criteria that we will use to evaluate candidates are Amateur Radio activities, community service, GPA, and the essay question on this application.
